École Frère-André is a Barrie catholic French language school teaching children from JK to grade 6 (aged 4 to 12 years old). Children learn in a secure environment that promotes learning, being, doing and living, all essential components of life. From grades 1 to 6, children benefit from specialized instruction in the domains of physical education and artistic education (music, drama and visual arts) beyond the teaching quality provided by their classroom teacher.

At Frère-André, there are 20 classroom teachers, a well-equipped gym and a library with many resources. Each classroom is equipped with at least three computers in JK and SK classrooms and four computers in grades 1 to 6 classrooms. The building is air-conditionned during hot months and is kept clean by three custodians.

The daycare attached to the school is named Garderie au Coeur de l’Amitié Inc. It offers before and after school programs for school aged students and also full day services for children of 2 ½ years old or older.

École Frère-André is recognized by the Ministry of Education as a School on the Move.
