ADMISSION CRITERIAS

The School Board Conseil scolaire de district catholique Centre-Sud accepts admission to its French language schools the students whose parent :

a-) contributes to the french separate school board
b-) is baptized catholic (or another denomination recognized by the catholic church – please call the school for a list of these denominations)
c-) reside in the school zoning area
d-) and that the father or the mother meets at least one of the following criteria:

1* is a canadian citizen and his or her first language learnt and is still understood is French
2* is a canadian citizen and has received instruction in French at the primary or secondary level in a French language school in Canada.
3* is a canadian citizen and has a child who is receiving or has received  instruction in French at the primary or secondary level in a French language school in Canada.

When a parent does not meet a criteria (1, 2 or 3) mentionned above, the school board can admit a child in its schools if recommended by an admission committee. Please contact the school to know more about the admission committee.

A French language school is not an immersion school.  An important mandate of the French language school is to make sure students learn in their language (French) from JK to grade 6.

“I am lucky and proud of having a catholic French language school that is of quality in my community to offer instruction to my children in their first language.  The personnel and the ambiance are superbe.  Parents are engaged in school life and children are happy.”  C.Stephens
